PAPERMAG.com: Ciara, the international superstar and pop/R&B chanteuse who recently signed to Epic Records, where she’s getting ready to release her fifth studio album, took last week’s Paris Fashion Week by storm. We asked the sultry singer to keep a diary for us — and she was kind enough to take the time to jot down her chic and fabulous comings and goings. Here, she fills us in on the all-night dance parties, the fabulous fashions and palling around town with Kanye West, Naomi Campbell and Riccardo Tisci.
September 28th
I landed in Paris this morning and right away I grabbed a bite to eat at Hotel Costes because I was hungry after the long flight. After that I had to go to a nail salon because I had broken a nail on the flight and needed to get it repaired. Then I rushed to my hotel to get a quick one-hour nap because I was truly tired from the long trip. After my nap, I had my Barbara Bui fitting. Barbara stopped by the fitting. She was really sweet and I thought it was so nice of her to come by. That evening I went to dinner at a Thai restaurant called Ginger. I had beef carpaccio and wonton dumplings for appetizers and Pad Thai noodles with chicken for my main course. Everything was really yummy. I then went back to my hotel to start getting ready for the exciting week ahead.

Ciara was a vision in red at Fashion’s Night Out. The gorgeous singer joined the glitterati at the W New York in Times Square last night, draped in an Alexandre Vauthier dress. She posed with W’s Global Fashion Director Jenne Lombardo inside the hotel. Earlier in the day, CiCi cheered on tennis superstar Serena Williams at the U.S. Open with her pals Kim Kardashian and La La Vazquez. RAP-UP.com

Having sold more than seven million albums worldwide and with countless Top 10 hits under her designer belt, Ciara needs no introduction to R&B and hip-hop fans. And thanks to a few high-fashion friends (think Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy), the Atlantia, Georgia resident is also making a name for herself with the
high-style set.
As StyleBistro’s latest celebrity guest editor, Ciara sat down with Associate Editor Mercedes Hawkins to talk about the intersection of fashion and music. Mercedes says, “I felt like I was talking to one of my friends about our love of fashion and music. Ciara revealed her growing appreciation for fashion, and how it influences her music and her evolution as a woman. She may be one of the hottest R&B stars around, but she is easy to talk to and wasn’t afraid to let me in on her insecurities. You can tell she loves to push her self creatively, and fashion plays a big role in that.”
Ciara is known for a tough tomboy style and open attitude toward trying something new. We’ve got the scoop on Ciara’s fave places to shop (Intermix!), her most embarrassing red carpet moment (“Aw man!”) and her crack-like addiction (keep reading!).

SB: How does fashion influence your music?
I feel like fashion and music go hand in hand—both things need each other. Sometimes I can be making a record and I’ll be thinking, ‘Oh, this is what I want to wear.’ It really shapes the direction of what I want to wear, and takes it to another place. Sometimes I can put something on and want to play a certain song. It’s a beautiful thing when [fashion and music] come together. Those two worlds are really fun to me.

Ciara’s makeup artist, Yolanda Frederick, was interviewed by InStyle Magazine. She commented CiCi’s looks through the years:
Singer Ciara gets her inspiration from the runway. “I love that she is on top of what’s current in fashion and beauty,” says her makeup artist Yolanda Frederick. “It really inspires me to stay fresh.” And, as it turns out, fashion loves Ciara as much as Ciara loves fashion—she’s become a muse for Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci.
