    Ciara talks with The Advocate

    Ciara: ‘Body Party’ and Soul

Via Advocate.com: The princess of Crunk&B opens up about her newfound sense of self, the inspiration behind her upcoming album, and why she thinks the hip-hop community will embrace openly gay NBA star Jason Collins.

She’s sold more than seven million albums, won multiple awards, and collaborated with superstars like Missy Elliot, P. Diddy, and Justin Timberlake. Yet, for all her success, Ciara admits she has never felt completely comfortable in her own skin — until now.

Her self-titled fifth studio album (available July 9) showcases a renewed performer who is at ease with both herself and her craft. Nevertheless, it’s the struggles she has endured throughout her career that the singer credits with helping her achieve a newfound sense of self-confidence and part of what has endeared her to many LGBT fans as well.

With her latest single “Body Party” currently burning up Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Ciara spoke with The Advocate about her love of the LGBT community, her affinity for Ball culture, and why she thinks the hip-hop community will embrace openly gay NBA star Jason Collins.

The Advocate: Ciara is your fifth studio album. What inspired you to go with a self-titled album at this point in your career?
Ciara: It just felt right. I’ve been able to tap into and discover so many new things about myself. I’m so much more comfortable in my skin than I’ve even been in my life and career. More than anything, I’m having more fun than I’ve ever had and I’m allowing myself to be free in the universe. For me, it’s beyond the music. It’s about the new experience and the journey. MTV News: Ciara talks “I’m Out” & working with Nicki Minaj
    26 Apr 2013 | Posted by Cherry

VIA MTV NEWS: Nicki Minaj and Ciara had such chemistry creating for the Young Money Barbie’s “I’m Legit” that they decided to do it again on Ciara’s upcoming self-titled album. The as-of-yet unheard “I’m Out” once again pairs Nicki and CiCi, and if you let the Atlanta singer tell it, it’s worth the wait.

“The energy of the record is so dope, and it’s really for the ladies, and Nicki she just killed the verse,” Ciara told MTV News on Monday. “She literally murdered it, like she got that throw-back, that thing that she does that’s so special. She went in.”

Nicki also gushed about Ciara’s upcoming album when we spoke to her at the top of the month. “I was supposed to only do one song for her album and I think I’m going to end up doing two,” Minaj said. “I just love what she’s doing and I’m so proud and I’m really excited for people to hear it.”

On Nicki’s “I’m Legit,” the pair rap and sing about being at the top of their respective game, even when they aren’t in full makeup or diva garb. It’s quite the girl anthem. As of now, only “I’m Out” is the only Nicki-collab slated to appear on Ciara, but CiCi confirmed that there may be another. “It’s looking like it. She’s actually finishing up one now that’s really it’s a monster too,” she said. “The moments that we have had so far have just been crazy. It’s just been magical, it’s been something special and I feel like the fans have always wanted to see she and I rock together.”

Ciara recently sat down with NJ.com after a hosting gig at Harrah’s Pool After Dark in Atlantic City.

NJ.com: What do you love most about coming to Atlantic City?
Ciara: I was just saying to my team, it’s like a whole other world out here; it kind of reminds me of Vegas. This is my first time ever going out in the city and it’s really nice.

Many fans are in awe of your body. What is your diet like?
Ciara: I try to make sure I have balance. I love eating food, so I make sure I get what I like to eat, and at the same time I make sure not to over indulge. Oh and drink lots of water.

You took the music scene by storm in the early 2000′s. How did it feel to catch that big break?

Future on Ciara: “She makes me happy”
    23 Jan 2013 | Posted by Cherry

There’s been a lot of buzz around Ciara & Future recently. The rumors were flying around about them being a item.  The rapper addressed the speculations in recent interview with Posterchild J1, check it out what he said:

She’s a beautiful woman, amazing, incredible, everything that comes with those words, that’s what she represents. I can tell you, all the negativity that comes with me and her is not true. Our personal lives is our personal lives. Sometimes people present it like it’s true and they think they have facts, but at the end of the day, we know what’s true and we know what’s not true and anything negative from that situation, we [are] not even representing that. What you see is what you get.

We are at a time where, I am on Epic, she’s on Epic, I love music, she loves music. And we love being in the studio with each other. We love being around each other and that’s just what it is. The chemistry is there. It’s amazing. She makes me happy, I make her smile.

Anything negative around that is all false because every time you are doing something positive and somebody sees you happy, they want to find something to tear you down. She’s a great woman.

I believe at the end of the day, once the media passes over and all of the foolishness goes past, we gon’ be able to be good. And we gon’ be good. It’s only comments, rumors and certain speculations. As long as we have that understanding, no one can ever come between us.

Thanks NecoleBitchie.com! Click here to watch the video (starts @ 7:47). He also was asked about working with CiCi by Civil TV, he said that “She ain’t going nowhere“. Couldn’t agree more!
